A Perseid Meteor Above La Palma
A bright Perseid meteor streaks past the Milky Way above the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos in Spain’s Canary Islands. In the foreground is the 23-meter mirror of LST-1, the first telescope built at the northern site of the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory.
LST-1’s 198 mirror segments are designed to capture faint flashes of light produced when high-energy gamma rays enter Earth’s atmosphere. On this night, some of those segments also reflected the glow of the passing meteor.
Building From Example
We’re using the Athena V2 Iteration V18 from Sketchfab as the starting point for exploring the design and control of an actively guided rocket. This detailed model helps us understand the fundamentals of rocket framing, control systems, and coding needed for stabilization and flight.
