On December 7, 1992, the Galileo spacecraft captured a mosaic of 18 images of the Moon’s north pole while en route to Jupiter. The view highlights several dark, lava-filled maria—including Imbrium, Serenitatis, Tranquillitatis, and Crisium—as well as the Humboldtianum Basin, a 650-kilometer impact structure partly filled with volcanic deposits. The Moon’s north pole lies just inside the shadowed region, with the Galileo mission later continuing to study the Jupiter system from 1995 to 1997.

Building From Example

We’re using the Athena V2 Iteration V18 from Sketchfab as the starting point for exploring the design and control of an actively guided rocket. This detailed model helps us understand the fundamentals of rocket framing, control systems, and coding needed for stabilization and flight.
